In case you have been under a bright fluorescent yellow rock and you don’t know who Olivia Palermo is, here is a tiny brief of this NYC socialite.
She is the daughter of real state developer Douglas Palermo and interior designer Lynn Hutchings, grew up between Greenwich, CT and the Upper East Side, NY; she attended the American University in Paris and has been part of the NYC social scene since her late teens. Is a member of various charities and definitely one of the “it” girls.
Becomes famous after costarring at the MTV reality series The City, her talent as stylist for Elle and her impeccable natural style were definitely envy of many but delight of many MORE (including me of course!)
The reason why I've decided to write today about her is simple, I was having one of those days where nothing on my closet is of my liking (this usually happens every other week) and decided to reach out to one my inspirations binders (will further explain about this on another post) and what do I see? and amazing picture of Olivia Palermo attending a casual gathering in NYC during the summer last year, she was wearing the perfect outfit (see below) and resolved somehow all my dilemmas about what to wear this weekend when the temperature in South Florida should be on the 80's.
She has been great source of inspiration for me; her style is elegant, sophisticated, eclectic and very feminine without being overwhelmingly girly. She mixes pieces from runway shows with simple obtainable items from stores like Zara and Topshop as such master. She has a way to accessorize every outfit to perfection, to make every piece of her attire an unforgettable one and I personally have never felt so hypnotized to anyone’s look as I am of hers.
Here are some of my favorite Olivia’s looks, some of them I’ve tried to mimic (imitation is the greatest form of flattery .. right?!) some of them I actually own and some of them I can only dream to have.
