We seem to have rules for pretty much everything we do in life.
They organize how things go in order to prevent them from falling apart so based on that it’s important to have them, that way we have a controlled and organized life.
Wait, controlled?
That’s definitely not an adjective that should be associated with all aspects of life; we were born to be free, right? But is true, we make-up rules for simple things in life, we even make-up rules for feelings and relationships. Usually others make rules that we just apply to our lives, rules that seem easy enough to follow and help us not to really think or duel on life decisions, even so, those rules can make us feel bad and deserving of awful names (does the word whore ring the bell?) rules that the majority of times make no sense, some of them just give us the perfect excuse not to be brave.
Not to be brave to kiss on a first date, not to be brave to ask a guy out, not to be brave to dance the night away with a complete stranger, not to be brave to let go of rational thinking and fall for pure emotions… dangerous and so needed emotions indeed.
Should we call these rules, Social organization? Dating manual? Or just happiness borders?
I say let’s leave all the elaborated obstacles to religion and other aspects of our lives; when it comes to relationships only let your own conscience, your heart, your gut and desires be your guide, toss away the rules book and do as you feel .. sometimes Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
